Laymaster was first developed as a navigation and pipe-laying program in 1998. It has been further enhanced to encompass optical cable laying and geophysical survey.

With an excellent record of reliability and accuracy, Laymaster was responsible for the world's deepest flexible pipeline lay at 1850 m. Its mathematical models have been successfully tested against other software packages that are considered industry standards.

In the Campos Basin, Brazil, Laymaster has a fifth differential; it seamlessly integrates with the SGO system developed by Petrobras. SGO is a GIS (Geographic Information System) tool that runs on Microstation.

It contains the latest information about that area, including position of rigs and wells, mooring, as-laids and bathymetric lines.
